| A 3 MB file is transferred over a connection in 60 seconds. Determine the size of the file (in KB) that can be transferred over the same connection in 40 seconds.
Size of the transferred file = transfer time · transfer rate. Note that the transmission time in the second case is 60/40 = 1.5 times less than the time in the first case. Since the file transfer rate is the same, the file size that can be transferred in the second case is also 1.5 times smaller. It will be equal to 3072 / 1.5 = 2048 KB.
