| A good telescope gives a magnification of about 200 times, a microscope – about 500 times. Sometimes they offer an image given by telescopes to be viewed through a microscope and thereby obtain a magnification of 100,000 times. Why, in practice, astronomers do not use such a simple recommendation?
There is no direct prohibition on combining. There are amateurs who are trying to achieve this symbiosis. But the image quality with such a design deteriorates noticeably, because the luminous flux does not increase. And the microscope cannot enlarge the details of the image that are not visible through the telescope. In general, there is no practical sense in this.
