A vessel with water is balanced on the scales. Will the balance change if a ball is immersed on threads into water without touching the walls and bottom of the vessel?
The balance will be disturbed, the scale on which the vessel with the ball dropped into it will drop, because a buoyant force from the side of the water will act on the ball, and the force opposing it, according to Newton’s third law, will act on the bottom of the vessel.
