By evaporation of 500 g of a solution with a mass fraction of salt of 10%, a solution with a mass fraction of salt of 14% was obtained. What is the mass of evaporated water?

ω = m (substance) / m (solution)
Find the mass of salt m = 500 * 0.1 = 50 g
We find the mass of the final solution m (solution) = m (substance) / ω = 50 / 0.14 = 357 g
Mass of water = m (initial solution) – m (final solution) = 500 – 357 = 143 g
