Compare the length of the handles of the scissors for cutting metal with the length of the handles of the scissors for cutting paper. How can you explain their different lengths?
Paper scissors have long blades and almost the same length of the handle. In contrast to them, shears for cutting sheet metal have handles much longer than the blades, since the resistance force of the metal is high and to balance it, the shoulder of the acting force has to be significantly increased.
