Inside two coaxial cylinders of different radii, a thin platinum wire coated with a silver layer is located on their axis. An electric current is passed through the wire. As a result, it heats up and monatomic silver molecules evaporate from its surface. A thin slot parallel to the cylinder axis is made in the inner cylinder. When the cylinders are stationary, a thin beam of silver molecules separated by a slit is deposited on the inner surface of a large cylinder. Then both cylinders are rotated. As a result, during the flight of the silver molecule from the slit of the inner cylinder to the surface of the outer cylinder, both cylinders will rotate by a certain angle.
