Describe the main types of human memory.

According to the nature of the predominance of mental activity, several types of memory are distinguished. Motor (memorization and reproduction of movements) memory is the basis of teaching everyday, labor and sports skills, writing; emotional (preservation and reproduction of experienced feelings) is well developed in people of art; semantic or verbal (memorization of information read or heard); figurative (memorizing visual, sound images, smells accompanying some kind of situation or event). By the nature of the goals of memorization, memory can be involuntary (thanks to it, most of a person’s life experience is formed) and voluntary (memorization for a specific purpose, thanks to which a person receives professional and other special knowledge). In terms of the duration of preservation and consolidation of the material, memory can be short-term, operational long-term.

Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
