| A common property is the ability to reversibly contract. Smooth muscle tissue is formed by mononuclear cells, the contraction of which occurs involuntarily; forms the walls of blood vessels and internal organs. Cross-striated skeletal – long multinucleated cells with cross striation, are able to contract voluntarily and maintain long-term activity. Striated cardiac muscle tissue is characterized by the connection of cells with each other and automatic operation.
