CO2 is attached to pentose C5, as a result of which an unstable six-carbon compound C6 appears, which splits into two three-carbon groups 2C3 – trioses.
Each of the 2C3 trioses takes one phosphate group from two ATPs, which enriches the molecules with energy.
Each of 2C3 trioses attaches one hydrogen atom from two NADP ∙ H2.
Then some trioses combine to form carbohydrates
2С3 → С6 → С6Н12О6 (glucose)
Other trioses combine to form pentoses 5C3 → 3C5, and are again included in the CO2 fixation cycle.
