Describe the types of substances that make up the biosphere.

The main components of the biosphere are: living, inert, biogenic and biocosal substances. Living matter – the totality of all living organisms on Earth with their ability to reproduce and spread on the planet, to fight for food, water, territory, air. Living matter (by mass) accounts for an insignificant proportion compared with the mass of the Earth. Living matter is characterized by growth, active movement, the desire to fill the entire surrounding space. Inert matter is represented by minerals (diamond, emerald, quartz) and rocks (granite, marble), the formation of which occurred and is taking place without the participation of living matter. Biocosal substance is a special substance of the biosphere. It is represented by soil, all natural waters, weathering crust, which are the result of the continuous interaction of living matter with inert material.
