During anaphase, daughter chromatids diverge to the poles of the cell. Each pole will have 2n2c, but in total there will be 2n4c in the cell. Due to the lack of anaphase, an uneven distribution of hereditary material may occur. Which will lead to an non-identical reproduction of a new cell.
