| Determine the latitude of the pole j if it is known that the luminary with declination d = + 20њ and right ascension a = 30њ stood in 2h sidereal time at an altitude of H = 50њ.
Sidereal time = 2h, a = 30њ = 2h, therefore, the star was in the upper culmination; then d = j – z, or j = d + z = 20њ + 90њ – 50њ = 60њ (sowing).
