Continental legal system: the main source of law is law; this system is characterized by codification; this system is distinguished by the logic of construction, the presence of abstract constructions and concepts, precise legal definitions, the division of law into public and private.
Anglo-Saxon legal system: the main source of law is judicial precedent; this legal system is not characterized by codification.
