yes, the adopted constitution of 1848 approved the republic, the principles of which proclaimed freedom, equality and brotherhood. The supreme legislative power belonged to the unicameral legislature, the executive power belonged to the president. The new government intensified the offensive against the workers – armed gatherings were prohibited.
