Spots that are colder than the photosphere are surrounded by hotter and therefore brighter areas. The total radiation power in the region of the sunspot is approximately the same as in the photosphere. From this it follows that the luminosity of the Sun and, accordingly, its brilliance practically do not depend on the number of spots on its surface.
