Does the number of zodiacal constellations coincide with the number of constellations through which the Sun passes, moving along the ecliptic? How many constellations does the Sun’s annual path through the celestial sphere pass through?

Constellations of the Zodiac – 12: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo. Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces. Between Scorpio and Sagittarius is another ecliptic constellation – Ophiuchus. However, this constellation was not included in the zodiac by the ancients.
