Essay on “My Favorite Thing”

In today’s world, it is difficult to imagine life without a computer and other electrical equipment. People have created and are still creating various inventions to make their life easier.

The computer is the first assistant in people of different professions. If before mathematics had to make complex calculations on paper, now special computer programs can do everything in seconds.

In my life, the computer takes a huge place. With it, I study and relax, meet new guys, and then communicate with them. Thanks to the Internet, I travel around the world without leaving my room. Of course, I find real trips and excursions more interesting, but they do not always have the money and time.

The computer has replaced the television and the tape recorder from my life. Why are they needed if you can listen to music on a computer. And, on the Internet you can choose exactly the movie that you want to watch, and not the one that is offered in the TV program.

Many adults believe that the computer enslaved children and adolescents. I agree with this opinion only half. There are people who have become addicted to games. They do not notice anything around them. Such a problem must be fought.

But, after all, an interesting book can entice a person so much that he will forget about everything in the world. Such a hobby can also be called addiction.

In my opinion, a computer is a wonderful invention. If a person is lonely and has no friends, the computer will help brighten up his loneliness. Of course it’s stupid to change real friends into virtual ones. The person who is next to you will be able to help in a difficult situation. But, often thanks to friends on the computer, people collect the necessary funds to treat a sick person.

A computer can be an enemy stealing your time and mind, but also a friend rushing to your aid. Who or what he will be is up to you. I treat my computer as a friend, but they don’t allow it to squeeze real friends out of my life.

Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
