Experiment with your teacher. Assemble the circuit containing the current source, rheostat, ammeter, semiconductor diode and switch. Close the key. Measure the amperage. Open the key and connect the wires to the other poles of the current source. Close the circuit and again. measure the amperage. Draw conclusions.
The current in the circuit in which the diode is connected goes only in one direction.
