Explain the mechanism of salt dissociation.

| If a salt crystal is placed in water, then around the positive and negative ions of the crystal lattice of the electrolyte, the water dipoles are oriented with oppositely charged ends. Attraction occurs between the ions of the salt crystal and the water molecules, the bond between the ions weakens, and the transition of ions from the crystal to the solution occurs. The ions that have passed into the solution remain bound with the water molecules that have joined them, which form the hydration shell of the ion, that is, the solution contains hydrated salt ions.
