Explain the structure and operation of a liquid pressure gauge

The operation of an open liquid pressure gauge is based on the property of communicating vessels and Pascal’s law. The liquid is set at the same level in both elbows, since only atmospheric pressure acts on its surface. The change in pressure can be judged by the height of the excess column.
