Romantics tend to create an idealistic picture of the world. Realists are not afraid to show the unpleasant moments of life. Both romantics and realists saw that reality was far from ideal, but realists actively showed this.
The difference between American romanticism lay in a closer connection with educational rationalism: they did not have such a sharp departure from educational ideals.
Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
