Financing of the World Health Organization

According to the official website, in 2006-2007, the total WHO budget was about US $ 3.3 billion. Of these, 28% are regular contributions from WHO Member States, and 72% are voluntary contributions from WHO Member States, UN contributions, intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations, foundations, local governments, the private sector and interest income.
Since 2008, WHO’s results-based management has been based on a six-year medium-term strategic plan (2008-2013) with three two-year budget periods.
