| To find out what substances are food for yeast, you can put down experiments with different media: sugar, starch, gelatin, vegetable oil, flower fertilizers. We put a yeast culture in each nutrient medium, put it in a warm place and after a few days we will see the results – foaming will be a sign of the yeast’s vital activity (nutrition). For persuasiveness, you can take a drop of liquid on a glass slide and examine it under a microscope and see the yeast colonies. Only in an environment where there is sweetness – sugar, will yeast multiply, because eat carbohydrates – sugars.
