For a given quantity of ideal gas, the ratio of the volume of the gas to its absolute temperature is constant if the gas pressure does not change. With decreasing temperature, the average kinetic energy of molecules decreases, which leads to a decrease in pressure. In order for the pressure to remain unchanged, it is necessary to increase the number of impacts of molecules against the vessel walls, which is achieved by decreasing the volume and increasing the concentration.
