How are animals different from other living organisms?
Animals differ from plants primarily in the structure of their cells. Animal cells, as you know, have no shell. They are covered only by the cytoplasmic membrane. In animal cells, there are no chloroplasts and vacuoles with cell sap. All animals are multicellular organisms. Organs and organ systems are formed from cells. Most animals have digestive, excretory, respiratory, circulatory and reproductive systems. Animals are also characterized by the presence of a nervous system, with the help of which a connection is established between organs in the body, as well as between the body of the animal and the environment. Most animals have sense organs with which they orient themselves in space, look for prey, and detect enemies. They have well-developed eyesight, hearing, smell, touch. Animals, unlike plants, feed on ready-made organic substances, that is, they are heterotrophs.
