This section of the new borders in Europe was defined by the Potsdam conference of the Big Three:
1) Germany lost all the territories seized by Hitler.
2) East Prussia withdrew from Germany to the USSR and Poland.
3) The Polish-German border was moved westward to the Oder and Neisse rivers
