How did it happen that Germans were the majority in the leadership of the University of Prague in 1400?

The University of Prague (founded in 1348) was the first metropolitan university in the German Empire. Its first professors were Germans who graduated from the University of Paris and were invited to Prague by Emperor Charles IV (also a graduate of the Sorbonne).
