How did the discovery of the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction come about?

Faraday used two coils located in each other. When the internal coil was closed to the battery, an induction current, which was recorded by a galvanometer, appeared in the external pulse. At the moment the battery closes, a changing magnetic field arises, which permeates the outer coil, causing an induction current in it.
