How did the Lutheran church differ from the Calvinist one? Which one was more Catholic?

The Calvinist Church is more “monarchist”, where the power of the elders over the parishioners is enormous. Among Lutherans, the amateur performance of parishioners is quite large. Calvinism is closer to Catholicism.
