In human practice, it is of great interest to use parasites to control vector carriers of infectious diseases or agricultural pests. There are parasitic inferior fungi that infect insects or their larvae. Often there is a housefly disease – fungal mycosis. In some years, there is a massive death of caterpillars of butterflies, beetles affected by fungi. It is especially important that insects of medical importance, such as mosquitoes, also have such parasites. Currently, attempts are being made to cultivate fungi – insect parasites. Some progress has been achieved in reducing the number of goldfish, aphids, and pine scoops by infecting insect pests with fungi.
