The pulmonary circulation begins from the right ventricle of the heart. Venous blood flows through the pulmonary arteries into the lungs. In the lungs, arteries form a dense capillary network, gas exchange occurs here. enriched with oxygen and freed from carbon dioxide. From venous blood turns into arterial. Through the pulmonary veins, arterial blood enters the left atrium, where the pulmonary circulation ends. From the left atrium, blood enters the left ventricle, and from it is again sent through the vessels of the pulmonary circulation.
