How does the air temperature in the troposphere change with height?

All living organisms live in the troposphere. This is where all the air is concentrated. In the troposphere, air temperature decreases with height. And all because the Sun cannot heat the air. The sun’s rays only heat the earth’s surface. In turn, the earth is already warming a layer of tropospheric air close to itself. The earth will not be able to warm the entire troposphere, because the farther up from its surface, the lower the air temperature. In about 1 kilometer, the temperature will drop by 6 degrees.
