| Artificial selection is a selection method carried out by a person with the aim of creating animal breeds and plant varieties. The breeder selects individuals with favorable traits and rejects the rest. Species and varieties created by artificial selection can exist only due to human concerns, in the wild they perish. Artificial selection arose recently – from the time when a person began to breed domestic animals and engage in agriculture. The selection of individuals with the necessary genetic changes leads to the creation of completely new organisms that never existed before in nature. These forms have signs and properties adapted to the interests of man.
