How is metabolism regulated?

Regulation of metabolic rate occurs in two ways: nervous regulation is carried out by the hypothalamus, which controls the synthesis of proteins, carbohydrates, the level of heat exchange and food consumption; humoral regulation is carried out with the help of endocrine glands, whose hormones affect the permeability of cell membranes and the activity of enzymes, thereby controlling the intensity of metabolism.
