How is the regulation of vital functions in plants?

The vital processes of a plant organism are regulated by biologically active substances. The leading role in the regulation of the processes of division, growth and differentiation of plant cells belongs to phytohormones. Even in small amounts, they can accelerate or slow down various vital functions – root formation, bud development, shoot growth, flowering, fruit ripening, leaf fall, seed germination, etc. Phytohormones are formed by certain cells and transported to the site of action through conducting tissues or directly from one cell to another.
