How long does it take to build the first pyramids in Egypt from the Trojan War? Which pharaohs were the contemporaries of Achilles and Agamemnon? What are they famous for? Did the Egyptians encounter the Achaeans then or later? If so, where and with what outcome?
The Trojan War took place, apparently, at the turn of the XIII-XII centuries. BC — fifteen centuries after the construction of the pyramids, a little after the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II, during the reign of his son Merenptus and grandson Seti P. “The peoples of the sea” (including the Phoenicians, Achaeans and Philistines) invaded the possessions of Egypt on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The Egyptians were forced to repel their raids. Pharaoh Ramses III succeeded in this around 1150 BC.
