The famous Chinese sage Confucius believed that it is necessary to observe the traditions that have been established since ancient times. The younger ones must respect and obey the older ones.
In order to become a wise person, you need to read a lot, to join the wisdom of the ancients. A well-mannered person was considered to have good manners. For example, when entering a house, you need to take off your shoes, it was boring to sit with your legs bent under you, eat with two chopsticks, braid your hair, be polite.
Any ruler of the state should take care of his subjects. He doesn’t have to be cruel. Thus, many provisions of Confucius’s teachings are still modern today. Especially the attitude towards the elders, towards the teachings.
