How was the experiment with two interacting carts?

Two different mass carts interact with each other. After burning the thread, the carts begin to move in opposite directions. A trolley with a lower mass moves faster and passes a larger path, while a trolley with a larger mass has a lower speed and, accordingly, the path passes a smaller one.
