How were children brought up in the tribal community?

| Children in the tribal community were raised together. The children knew the customs of the clan and followed them. As boys grew up, they had to pass tests in order to be accepted into the number of adult male hunters. The boy had to be silent under the hail of blows.
They made cuts on his body, rubbed ash, colored earth and plant juices into them. The boy had to spend several days and nights alone in the woods. Much had to be endured to become a real man of the family.
