If you decide to observe the Moon a week before the eclipse, where in the sky should you look for it immediately after sunset?

If there is a solar eclipse, then the moon is now in the last quarter, i.e. in the evenings it is not visible at all. If a lunar eclipse is expected, then there is a week left before the full moon, and after sunset the young moon will be in the southern part of the sky.
