In chlamydomonas, the gametophyte is the predominant generation. Identify the chromosome set of an adult organism and its gametes. Explain from what initial cells adult individuals and their gametes are formed, as a result of what division sex cells form.
1) the chromosome set of an adult organism and the chromosome set of spores – n (haploid);
2) spores are formed from a diploid zygote by meiosis;
3) chromosome set of gametes – n (haploid);
4) gametes are formed from the cells of an adult organism (gametophyte) by mitosis
