| In eggplant, the dark blue color of the fruit appears only if the genotype contains two dominant genes – D and P. For all other combinations of dominant and recessive alleles of these genes, plants have white fruits. What offspring can be expected from two white-fruited plants, the first of which is heterozygous for the D gene, and the second, e – for the P gene?
From the two white-fruited plants, offspring can be expected with dark blue and white fruits in a ratio of 1: 3.
