| In humans, polydactyly (six-fingered) is inherited as a dominant trait, five-fingered – as recessive. The family of a five-fingered woman and a six-fingered man has seven children. They are all six-fingered. What offspring can be expected from marriage: 1) a six-fingered son with a five-fingered woman; 2) a six-fingered daughter with a six-fingered man?
1) 1/2 six-toed and 1/2 five-toed children.
2) If the man is homozygous, then all children will be six-fingered, if heterozygous, then 3/4 of the children will be six-fingered and 1/4 will be five-fingered.
