| In humans, wavy hair and normal pigmentation are dominant features, straight hair and albinism are recessive. The family has two children: a son with normal pigmentation and straight hair and an albino daughter with wavy hair. What genotypes and phenotypes might their parents have?
Let’s designate the dominant and recessive alleles of the genes: A – wavy hair, a – straight hair, B – normal pigmentation, b – albinism. Possible P genotypes and phenotypes:
a) one is aabb (albino with straight hair), the other is AaBb (wavy hair and normal pigmentation);
b) one is aaBb (straight hair and normal pigmentation), the other is Aabb (albino with wavy hair).
