| In the fruit fly Drosophila, white eye color is inherited as a recessive trait, and red as dominant. The genes that determine eye color are linked to the X chromosome. Determine what is the probability of getting white-eyed offspring if: 1) you cross a white-eyed female with a red-eyed male; 2) cross between the first generation hybrids.
1) The probability of obtaining white-eyed offspring from crossing a white-eyed female and a red-eyed male is 50%;
2) the probability of getting white-eyed offspring from crossing between themselves hybrids of the first generation is 50%.
