| Acute heart failure in most cases occurs when the activity of the heart muscle (myocardium) is weakened, less often – in cases of heart rhythm disturbances.
The causes of acute heart failure can be various rheumatic lesions of the heart muscle, heart defects (congenital or acquired), myocardial infarction, as well as physical overstrain, metabolic disorders and vitamin deficiency.
