| At small angles of immersion of the Sun, the earth’s shadow can be recorded on the opposite side of the sky in the form of a gray-gray segment. As the sun sinks, the segment increases, but its edge becomes less sharp. The phenomenon of the Earth’s shadow is more noticeable for an observer at an altitude of several kilometers (in an airplane).
