Laboratory work: Weather Monitoring and Weather Diary

Purpose: to observe the weather and record the results of these observations.
Equipment and materials: barometer, thermometer, weather vane, textbook.
Tasks: during the month, measure air temperature, atmospheric pressure, determine the strength and direction of the wind, monitor cloudiness with precipitation, special phenomena in the atmosphere and record the results of these measurements and observations in the weather diary.

Progress: Observe the weather for one month, taking measurements daily and recording them in the weather diary. * Use a thermometer to measure the temperature of the air in the shade. Take measurements three times a day, every day at the same time. Record the measurement results in the appropriate column of the weather diary. * Use a barometer to measure atmospheric pressure. Take measurements once a day. Enter measurement data in the weather diary. * Use a weather vane to determine the direction of the wind. Determine the wind strength using figure 6.16 of the textbook. Record wind direction and strength in the weather diary.

* Observe cloudiness, cloud formations, precipitation, and other weather events using visual (visual) observation. Record them in the weather diary daily with the conventional signs indicated in the textbook.
* Provide links to resources, including Internet resources, from which you can get weather data, including archival, or weather forecasts.
