Leonardo da Vinci was engaged in painting and sculpture, studied human, animal and plant anatomy; designed fortresses and irrigation systems; invented a reliable diving bell; created projects for a submarine, parachute and helicopter. His ideas about transmitting images over long distances by coding them (as in modern televisions) were not implemented due to poorly developed industry (there was a lack of reliable materials, powerful engines).
