Most insectivorous birds fly to warm countries for the winter, and most granivorous birds stay with us for the winter. What is the reason for this?
Insects cannot exist in winter, because body temperature depends on the ambient temperature – from heat, and in winter temperatures are minus, and the seeds of the plant are not threatened in winter; they exist perfectly, because they have strong defenses. That is why granivorous birds can winter, but insectivores cannot.
